Creality K3 vs Snapmaker U1 vs SPARKX i8: US prices, ship dates and official specs on October 24, 2026

On October 24, 2026, the Creality K3 was $849 on pre-order at Creality's US store with an estimated shipping date of November 2; the Snapmaker U1 was $749 (compare-at $999) and shipping from Snapmaker's US warehouse; and the Creality SPARKX i8 was sold out on Creality's US store, which carried a $309 price in its product data and pointed buyers to the i8's Indiegogo campaign. Creality's launch release gave the i8 a $289 super early-bird price and a $399 MSRP.

We read the three listings again on October 31, 2026. The K3 was still $849 on pre-order with "November 2nd" as its estimated shipping date, the U1 was still $749, and the i8 was still sold out with $309 in its product data. The one change was the U1 Top Cover's US ship date, which read "Nov.9-13".

Creality K3 vs Snapmaker U1 vs SPARKX i8: official specs side by side

All three print up to four colors or materials in one job. They do it three different ways, and they are at three different stages of sale in the US. We do not test printers; the table repeats each maker's own figures and labels.

On paper, the U1 has the largest build volume of the three and the K3 is the heaviest. The i8 is the only bedslinger of the three and the only one with no enclosure option listed, and it has half the stated acceleration of the other two. The U1 and K3 have the same stated speed, acceleration and temperatures.

US prices by configuration, read October 24, 2026

Each printer had one printer configuration on its maker's US store. The K3's add-on kits had no US price we could find, and the i8's crowdfunding tiers could not be read because Indiegogo returned an access error (HTTP 403) to our reader.

At these listings, the K3 was $100 above the U1 alone and $49 below the U1 with its Top Cover. The U1's $749 is the same figure Snapmaker's store showed on October 16; our tracker read $849 there on October 11. The i8 release says the $289 tier rises to $399 "when super early-bird slots are sold out", while Creality's campaign page and, on October 24, its US store banner advertised an early-bird saving of up to 23%. The price history of each printer is in its own record: K3, U1 and SPARKX i8.

Release dates and ship dates

The U1 reached buyers in 2025. The K3 and the i8 were both unveiled at IFA Berlin on September 5, 2026, and neither had a confirmed first delivery to US buyers on October 24, 2026, in the official sources we could read.

Announcement, order and shipping dates for the three printers, as their makers state them. Checked 2026-10-24. Sources: Creality press releases (September 5, September 21 and October 13, 2026); store.creality.com K3 listing; Creality blog (May 29, 2026); Snapmaker blog posts on the Kickstarter launch, the April 10, 2026 stock date and the 2025 recap; us.snapmaker.com U1 listing.

For the i8, Creality's September 21 release says: "Orders are scheduled to ship from factories in October, with delivery expected in November", varying by region and Q4 logistics. We found no later Creality statement saying the i8 has shipped: nothing on Creality's blog or product sitemaps, its US store or its campaign page, and no later Creality release on PR Newswire. The i8 listing on Creality's US store shows an estimated shipping date of October 22 to October 24, but the Ender-3 V4 Combo listing on the same store showed the same October 22 to October 24 that day and the i8 listing is sold out, so we do not treat it as an i8 delivery date. On October 31 the same line read "Oct 29 - Oct 31", and the listing was still sold out.

For the U1, Snapmaker's 2025 recap says: "In the second half of the year, U1 entered mass production and delivery began worldwide." The U1 product page now cites "more than 100,000 units shipped worldwide", a figure we cannot check.

How each printer changes colors

These are the makers' own descriptions, not test results.

  • Creality K3 (KliTek™ nozzle changing): four filaments stay loaded in four channels, and the printer swaps between four nozzle assemblies. Creality's October 13 release says it "switches between lightweight nozzle assemblies in approximately 5 seconds". Creality's K3 FAQ says: "It performs nozzle changes in 4.8 seconds and completes color/material changes in 15 seconds." The same FAQ says that "with an additional CFS Hub, K3 can be connected to CFS for more colors"; no US price for the hub was listed.
  • Snapmaker U1 (SnapSwap™ toolchanging): each filament stays in its own complete toolhead. Snapmaker's page says the printer "swaps one complete toolhead for another in just 5 seconds", using steel-ball kinematic couplings and a mechanical lock.
  • Creality SPARKX i8 (QuarTeks™): one toolhead with four filament channels, sharing a path of less than 1 mm near the nozzle tip. Creality's release says the system "integrates four independent filament channels into one compact toolhead" and that the i8 can "switch color channels in less than 1 second". Creality's spec list describes it as an "Integrated four-channel single-toolhead design; supports up to 4 colors".

The practical difference on paper: the K3 and U1 give each color its own heated nozzle, so the hardware that moves at a color change is a nozzle assembly (K3) or a whole toolhead (U1). The i8 keeps one nozzle and shortens the shared filament path instead.

What we could not confirm

  • The SPARKX i8's current Indiegogo tiers and prices, any i8 Combo price, and the campaign's closing date. Indiegogo returned HTTP 403 to our reader. Creality's campaign page mentions "the Combo" without a price. makers101.com reported a $309 early-bird tier, a $428 tier with CFS Lite and an October 31 campaign end; we could not check these on an official page.
  • Whether any SPARKX i8 or K3 unit has been delivered to a US buyer. We looked at Creality's US store, Creality's blog and product sitemaps, the i8 campaign page and Creality's releases on PR Newswire.
  • US prices for the K3 Top Cover, TPU Kit, Multi-Nozzle Kit and CFS Hub. None appeared in Creality's US store product sitemap on October 24, 2026.
  • Whether the U1's $749 price has an end date. The U1 listing shows a $999 compare-at price but no end date.
  • Which filaments the i8 supports. Creality's i8 specification list does not list compatible filaments.
  • Prices at Amazon or other US retailers. We read only the makers' own stores and pages.

Questions

Creality K3 vs Snapmaker U1: what is the difference?
The K3 swaps four nozzle assemblies and has a 260 mm cube build volume; the U1 swaps four complete toolheads and has a 270 mm cube. On October 24, 2026, the K3 was $849 on pre-order (estimated shipping November 2) and the U1 was $749 and shipping from Snapmaker's US warehouse.
Creality K3 vs SPARKX i8: what is the difference?
The K3 is a CoreXY printer with four nozzles; the SPARKX i8 is an open-frame bedslinger with one toolhead that holds four filament channels. Creality lists the K3 at 22 kg and 20,000 mm/s² acceleration and the i8 at 9.72 kg and 10,000 mm/s². The K3 is $849 on pre-order; the i8 launched on Indiegogo at $289 (MSRP $399).
Which of the three is shipping now?
Only the Snapmaker U1 was listed as in stock on its maker's US store on October 24, 2026. The K3 was on pre-order with a November 2 shipping estimate, and Creality's i8 release scheduled factory shipping for October and delivery for November 2026.
Does the Snapmaker U1 come with an enclosure?
No. The Top Cover is a separate $149 pre-order (compare-at $249). On October 31, 2026, Snapmaker's US page gave its US warehouse ship date as November 9-13; on October 24 it said early November. The K3's Top Cover is also sold separately, with no US price found; Creality lists no enclosure for the i8.
How fast does each printer change colors?
By the makers' own figures: about 5 seconds for a K3 nozzle change (15 seconds for a full material change), 5 seconds for a U1 toolhead swap, and less than 1 second for an i8 channel switch. None of these is an independent measurement.
